    Looking to get into boats

I've been into cars for a long time, ive got an hpi baja, exo terra, and an 8ight-e if anyone here is familiar with r/c cars. Im looking to get into boats. I really know nothing. What are some of the name brands? My criteria is this:

    60mph +/- 10mph
I will be racing on a lake so probably kinda big (30-40 inches?????)

Please provide me with as much details as possible. Motors, esc, hulls, good place for parts, etc.

    thanks!

GB, I recently came up with this questionnaire to get some detailed information on new boat goals. It'll save time & make it easier to narrow down any suggestions anyone here might have to help you go in the right direction. Give it a try.

Tony has a nice outline there, budget is probably the biggest criteria, speed and size come with a price tag. Do you have $300 500 1000 or more to spend? I came from a car background and have raced cars competitively for 20+ years everything from 12th scale to 5th and everything in between, that being said throw away most of that knowledge because there is nothing in RC that uses power like boats do. What boats do you like (cats, hydros, monos)and what kind of water are you running on, flat ,windy and choppy or even bigger waves? Sometimes a nice big V hull boat that does 40-45mph for 6-8 minutes is a lot more fun than doing 60+ with a smaller hydro or cat that will flip a lot if you run in a lot of chop. We're here to help so look at tony's questionnaire and ask away, and there are a lot of really nice RTR boats out there now too that aren't that expensive so you can get your feet "wet" a little easier and cheaper than you could just a couple of years ago.
      We call ourselves the "Q"
