    Arowana 22.5 question

I purchased an Arowana 22.5 along with 3660SL 3180kv motor, 125a ESC and a 4000mAh 3s 30c lipo. Will this set up be ok for this boat?

How is everything working out for ya? The Arowana hull is really nice looking, where did you buy it? and how did it run with the 3660Sl motor?

I am using a 3660sl 3180kv motor with a 4s lipo and a 120a turnigy marine esc in a CESA 1882 hull and the boat jump off the water at half throttle.
The cesa hull is ABS plastic so its very light weight, about 3 pounds or 1.4kg The hull is 36 inches long.

Tested the boat for the first time today and well fast as hell but no stability at all. :)

I am still in the building stage with the Arowana 22.5. I switched and am putting a leo 2860 3400kv in it. Hope to have a test run this weekend.

I have a arowana 22.5 with a turnigy 2223 2900kv out runner running a single 3s 2200 and a 35mm prop. Its the wife's boat so I wanted to keep it simple. I would say it does between 25-30 mph. I did have to put trim tabs on it to settle it down but it runs great, fun little boat. Only thing is I can not get it to self right, I have played with the weights they give you and moved everything around inside it but still wont flip itself back over. Thinking about closing the holes up and repainting for her this winter, I wish they offered it with or without the holes.

Did you need to install a turn fin?

No, never had a problem with that it just hopped a lot. just a small set of trim tabs mounted 1/8 inch up from bottom of the hull and then set level with the hull and now she runs nice and smooth with no more bounce.

What size trim tabs did you use?

No problem. If you can get some brass sheet you could just make some, they don't need to be very big. About 1 inch wide and maybe 1/2 inch long.

With the stuff you said earlier that motor is great in Mono1s, very competitive at any level.

SirBudman, the LiPo you are using is much smaller than usual, Mono1s normally have a 280gram battery, I bet if you added another 140g of lead under the battery, a bgger battery, or a second battery in parallel, it would turn over.

No room in boat to put a second battery. Thought about adding more weight to it but it runs to good the way it is.
