Which eagle tree logger is needed

Thinking about buying a data logger for my build.
    Running DF 35 with Leopard 4092 1480kv Seaking 180 running 6s 5000 mah 65c in parallel.
How do I decide on the proper data logger. Do I buy the 150 or 100 or is that even high enough.
    Thanks for help in advance

Head room Max, head room. Looks like you really set up your DF 35 nicely, and will definitely have far less amp draw than my 4092 2080kv.
I still believe you WILL be over 100amps, with spikes up to 150, maybe more? depends on prop. A little light reading for ya.

      Thanks runswithsizorzs
Light reading ha ha. Lots of learning for me. So your thought is not only that I need the 150 but also need to mod it to handle up to 300.
      Ok that's not a problem.
In fact accidentally ordered it last night. Lol. My wife had her iPad set to one click order. Good thing I wasn't looking at something really expensive. Might be in a panic about now if I was. :).

The 150 you will definitely want, and need. However, with your lower kv motor, and 6s batteries, you may not need to modify it. There is a mathematical way to approximate your amp draw, but
as you know, there are sooo many variables, (hint, there's a difference between a Df 35", and a DF 35" Pirate). My best guess is with your set-up, and a moderate prop you will hover around 120amps,
with spikes around 150. Prop up, and nose down, and things are gonna heat up, (how's your cooling?). I have also *heard* someone say that they were getting readings as high as 180amps on an unmodified Elogger,
so you may want to hold off on the mod, and try it first.

Cooling should be good. Running dual pickup rudder with motor mount cooling and motor cooling jacket with separate cooling for the esc. Prop, I'll start with either Octura x445 or CNC prop 45mm. Really have not researched the prop stuff yet these two props were recommended by Steve at OSE. Really don't even know the difference in them yet. :)

Until you get yourself trimmed, and know what your temps are, and since this is a Pirate, I would arrrrr on the side of caution. For your first 2,or 3 props I would stay under 46mm, and 2.0 pitch.
I would give a 3 blade a try. The Octura 1742/3 would be safe, but I really believe you could handle the 1745/3. Once you know, a Panther 225 for sheer grins.

Thanks for info. I'll try that recipe out. Do you think it's ok to start with either prop I have?

Yes, for short set-up runs, and keep your eyes on the temps. Allow a little cool down time in between runs. Take notes, keep a log, and have the tools necessary
to do so. A logger,(DUH), IR temp gun, and maybe a handy little tool I use, that fits in my Leatherman belt pouch; http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...75/index2.html
Measures in inch's, millimeters, angle degree's, and has a conversion table printed on it. I use it to set, and record my trim tab, and stinger adjustments.
Are you using a stinger, or a strut?. Both, *CAN* have height adjustments, and there are advantages to having that ability, (ask if you need more info).
Do you have all the probes for your logger? I have rpm, and temp sensors for battery, ESC, caps, and motor, and can monitor live on shore, as well as pit crew, or spectators
when TX is plugged into a laptop with an 8 foot cord. Some have said that, " Hey, I'm all dialed in, and nothing else needs to be done", I say PISH-POSH!
Ambient air, and/or water temps can change, water conditions can change, my mood can change. Do I want to do some figure eight's, jump the wakes fantastic, throw a big
rooster tail, bring the bow down so my headlights aren't aimed up so high at night, to WOT, or not, these are the questions.
