Nice Diesel, but why would you take the risk of just throwing 8.4v into a TX that runs on 4.8v stock? Was there a part in the manual that said it could run on more?

Seems like I'm a bit late in the game for making the TX mods as alot of you have done it. I guess I was busy building boats!!!!!!(and Trucks)

No risk buddy, I wouldn't jeopardize that radio.

The maximum on that (dx8) radio is a 2s, some of the JR are rated up to 3s. The reason I did it was the stock nimh battery was horrible and charging through the radio takes forever. HH does indeed sale a upgrade 2s lipo for the DX8, but its $50. So I knew 2s was the max going into it.

I don't own Accucel but look at the manual section "Initial Parameter Setup", if you so choose you can select the type of lithium battery including LiFe.

Glad to see these work, I'm waiting for 3 now. I also ordered 2 of these for the receiver side that I've been using http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=23823

Oscarel is right. I have a couple of Acucell 8 chargers & there is a LiFe setting in the 'battery type' parameter. I strongly suggest you use it, as I've seen what happens to a LiFe pack if it is left on a Lipo setting. It's not pretty.
                Cheers.
