    Rescue Boat

I am considering buying a rescue boat. What is the cheapest option i can do with a hobby quality rc boat? Btw i was thinking of doing a system like the proboat duck works with a trailing object that hooks the dead boat and then just pull it in.

Here's mine, its a Shock Wave, Version 2: Works great with the steerable out drive and reverse. I paid $100.00 for the boat and $10.00 for the rig.

Currently scratch building a 30" lobster boat to use for rescue, going to tow a floating line. Will only be for close to shore work, we use a big canoe for the real or multiple rescues.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Would an aquacraft reef racer do the job? I am thinking of getting one just because they are so affordable.

yes they do work well and heres the way i do it, tie a fishing line to the top of it, go out and do a loop around the boat amd snag it and then reel it in w/ the pole.

Thanks does it have enough power to pull it in by itself?

                Reef racer rescue boat?

                lol

All it takes is catching 1 leaf and the reef racer will need to be rescued also.

You want a little power in a rescue boat.

I built a 25" Bling rocket with a Proboat steerable outdrive unit. Used an old motor and picked up a new ESC. You could go cheap with HK electrics.

If you put attached a fishing reel to it and if it has a problem just reel it back in. Then once you hook the dead boat just reel in the whole combo. Would that work?

I wouldnt put my trust into a boat that can barely get out of its own way. Let alone one with next to know power.

i guess it all depends on your fleet. If you got just a few boats and smaller ones sure that deal works. But if you got $1,000's into your boats then you usually have a recovery method worthy of your investment.

                        Just my POV.

We've been using one of these for the last couple years. Small tough and takes some pretty rough water at times. Has a 27t brushed motor and a Traxxas car esc. We use a floating grappling hooh on about 8ft of high strength kite string. Tows in 30" hydros with power to spare. No problems and has not missed yet. Although we have not had to tow in a boat that was only floating with the tip of the bow above water. In that case we MAY be able to push it in with the tugs square bow.....hopefully.

I have a twin drive tug boat from Walmart that works pretty good in that capacity though it is slow. I changed out the stock esc for dual escs and did some radio mixing (found on youtube) so it can do some very tight maneuvers with props only.
