    A noob needs some help

I just got a pro boat apache 24 rtr I hav been doin rc's for 10 years mostly helis and have decided to try boats. I ve already picked up a hydra 120 and I am looking for some advice on witch motor would best suit this boat. I am goin to be running flightpower 3s1p 3700 's and also maybe some prop suggestions. I hav not seen another post yet on this but if there is and u know please send me a link.

methinks that a feigao 540 8l(3072kv) would be as 'hot' a motor as I would want for a 3s lipo setup.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

              the 540 8L feigao has a 5mm shaft and i need 1/8 due to the coupler so would the 540 10 S or 12 S feigao?

prop size: likely smaller than you'd expect...an octura x432 would prolly be a good size to start with. octura also makes a hexflex coupler 5mm to 0.130" (it will work with an 1/8" shaft). a 10s is (imo) too hot a wind for 11.1v. the short can motors will have to work real hard to push that boat(read get hot in a hurry) the long can motors are better suited.

thanks for the help so ur saying a flex coupler will work even tho it is attachin to a solid drive shaft and not a flex cable just checkin cause im new at this

well since we solder the end of the flex anyway to make it solid...your biggest challenge will be to; ensure that the shaft is true.

most likely the easiest would be 0.130". keep in mind that you would prolly need to install some form of 'strut' to support the prop. I'd try and see if the motor/shaft alignment is good enough to reuse the oem shaft 1st, before going to a flex shaft.
