New Boat Desire Questionnaire - Check it out

It's come to my attention over and over again that, when a newbie is looking for advice in obtaining a new or first FE boat or stepping up from his initial efforts that there's often lots of back-and-forth posting that, while appearing to be helpful often becomes frustrating to all involved. One such thread is currently happening now, and frankly, not much is being accomplished regardless of how well meaning the involved parties are. With that in mind, I crafted a quick draft of a "New Boat Questionnaire" that should be constructive in getting down to the nitty-gritty. Check it out (if you have Word). Comments welcome - it's just a first draft.

Do you have a means to rescue the boat?
Do you want a self-righting hull? (under Monos)

Self-righting is the #1 feature for this noob. It takes 15 minutes for me to rescue my boat (if it's stranded due to drivetrain\electrical problems). 15 minutes I could be spending enjoying my boat vs rescuing it due to a flip.

Good suggestions. I forgot to put in the rescue boat thing and the self righting thing will be included in the update. Thanks Bro

In "performance priorities", I think it would be advantageous to rank them from highest to lowest priority instead of assign a number value. Ranking them in order of importance shows what most important to the person, relative to the other categories. Most people that I talk to want Fast in the straights, good turning, long runtime, low cost...10,10,10,10. It would be usefull to find out what MOST important, second most important, etc.

          Keith,

Thanks for the input. I thought about doing it that way; this might be a little easier to understand. They're merely "talking points" to start the ball rolling in the right direction. Will update the draft after a while.

Move 'Total $$$$ to spend up to the top. Hull design you might want to add 'water conditions' next to each hull. Great idea
