Convert an EKOS to a single motor w/ new hardware, or just get a blackjack 29?

I have an ekos and while the stock setup sounds pretty cool it runs at rediculous temps and really isn't that fast.... would it make sense to convert the ekos to a single motor setup or would I just be better off picking up one of the new blackjack 29 cats from proboat? Any thoughts or better options? We are just playing now but will be racing at some point soon.. so that should be kept in mind.

If you are going to race, I would start get the BJ29
there you will have a race worthy hull and can be raced in spec class

Ok, that said.... 419 for a BJ29 OR go for a Motley Crew (aq) for 269.99 shipped? Both new boats.. except the MC is also available right now as well... thoughts?
