help choosing motor esc for 3 boats

Hi everyone i am needing some advice. i have 3 boats that i am ready to upgrade beyond stock.i am looking to hit 55mph atleast with new setup. i am wanting to put new motors and esc in each of them. i have a proboat mystic 29, proboat stiletto 29, and a aquacraft ul-1 superior. i was informed that in the proboat mystic 29 that i should run 4s with a leopard 4074 2200kv and seaking 180 esc. is this the motor esc setup i should use in all three boats? if not let me know what you would recommend in each of the boats i listed. also i like grim props and i am also needing to know what grim prop to run with each of these setups. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.

You might think about an ettti 150 for the ul1 there's not a lot of space in there and I think propperchopper had a build or mod thread in the stilleto where he changed the water nipples to squeeze in a t180 but its tight to. That being said you could use a neu 1512 or 3674 Leo in the ul1 id go bigger but the esc size issue limits the size of the motor

OK so I have chosen to fit the mystic 29 with the leopard 4074 2200kv motor and a 180 amp esc, what prop should I run with that setup?

M445 on mystic. L40/57/3 on ul1 with Leo 3674 2200kv and seaking 120. Stiletto, I have no idea.

Thanks a lot Dana, the m445 what brand is that? And also with the ul-1 I've done the measuring and I can also fit the leopard 4074 2200kv motor and 180 amp esc in it as well. So would you still run the grim L40x57 prop with that setup on the ul-1?

M445 is octura. 4074 is power hog, you would be better off running 4s2p on that setup but you're gonna have a hard time fitting those in ul1. Better to stick with 3674. The bigger can isn't gonna do much more in that hull then the 3674. Yes I would stay with l40/57/3 regardless. You shouldn't just stick the bigger motor in because it will fit, go with the one that is appropriate

What do you mean be better off running 4s2p? How else would I have it? And with the 3674 setup will I hit mid to hi 50`s?

Two 4s packs instead of two 2s. Do some research on parallel vs. series wiring. Yrs the 3674 will get you into the 50's

The ul1 speeds are limited by hull design not power. It's a good 40-50 mph hull but a poor 60mph hull, so at say 55 it's gonna spend ALOT of time upside down.

So let me get this straight. If I were running the 3674 I would run 2 2s packs and if I were running the 4074 I would need 2 4s packs?

It's not that you NEED it that way, but it's better. A 4074 will drain your 2s packs quick. You have to understand the difference between parallel and series wiring tho. Stick with what you know for now.

I put a 1515 in a ul1 and a etti 150 the weight if the pack and hardware made it near impossible to pull out of the water. It submarined constastly it did alright from a throw start but once you had a problem it would plow before going right . Just my experience

the fastest setup i had in my ul1 was a turnigy 2300 kv. first i tried to run two 4s packs, and like alex said, it was a plow, so i went to two 2s packs. yes it was fast at 56mph, but just unstable. it spend alot of time upside down and destroying hardware. its just not good for anything over 50 really. maybe 51-52mph but anything more is just frustrating.
