53 MHZ Drambuie on ice speed's

Got the boat in the water, This weekend raced the boat in the annual fastest RC boat shootout. Got to do some testing, started with my octura 470's raced preped cut to 65mm, the boat would run high 70s, only pulling 110a and temps around 90deg. Rich at central rc boats, hooked me up with a pair of 2720 wheels, and the next pass was 90 followed up with a 91mph pass.

The water got choppy so the afternoon speeds were lower, got to run a 87mph run Sun afternoon. I am so pleased with this boat. Once I figure out what prop she likes she will be well over 100.

Hmm 100-200kv more could have done wonders? Rather than huge step up in props

if i understand right, that 600kv is how he is swinging the bigger prop,i am not telling, im asking. but i could see where the bigger prop would help on the bigger boat,I'm wrong then the same motor at say a kv of 700-800 would be the way to go in the build im trying to get info on.I would also like to stay with a 10s if possible.thanks a lot for the reply kingwrench, nice boat.

Definetly the hi tourque motors and 600kv swing those props quite easy. In my own humble opinion I would swing some 55-60mm props a little faster, but that's just me. Even 448's can push my hull 82mph. It's very light though and already sits quite nicely on the water

kingwrench has posted on my thread about powering large boats, so i will not poke on his thread anymore about his very beautiful great running boat.my questions are for powering a 60" boat and my concern with smaller faster props is at what point do they go from push to boiling?I do agree with what you are saying, just not sure where the breaking point is.
