    Setting up a HV Hydra

Powered up the HV 180 as per Castles instructions. Dead , no reaction what so
    ever.

Plugged in the power leads to the LiPos and it beeped and it gives me full forward control.

The inital calibration to my transmitter still will not work. Trying to enter the program mode will not work.

I have tried all settings on my Spektrum with respect to trims.

Had similar problems with my Hydra 120 a year ago, never got the programming to work.

    Any ideas??

All I want to set is my cutoff voltage. These things are never user friendly.

set all EPA's to max, plug in the esc and adjust the trims. on both the button above the wheel and in my memory. some times the memory adjustment helps just that extra bit.

I am assuming that you have the main power pack and the RX pack hooked up, right? It should be done like you were going to start the boat (I used only 4s for setup) at the pond.
My advise to you is, get a Castle link... Soooooo much easier. You should setup a custom cutoff anyway.

Yup,, tried it both ways. I might have to check out the Castle Link...................
Or tonight, maybe I'll try a different radio and see what happens

The castle link is a major benefit. I hate beep and trigger pulls. I never seem to get the programming right without it.

              Doby,

              Come on bro!

Dont you think a $400 controller deserves a CASTLE LINK?? JMO

I have never used the transmitter to program my CC esc's... Always used the castle link with no issues at all!!!

Good luck Doby!! My HV-180 worked flawless all weekend long at the races, these are going to be "great controllers"....

Joe, I tried calling you today. Your shop was closed. Thanks for the offer of help. Its good to see Manufacturers reps surfing the forums . I'll try again tomorrow.

TX; Yeah Yeah Yeah ,,,,Its on the wish list.

The controller does work. Gives me full forward control. Just seems odd that I didn't have to calibrate it and can't get at the programming function.

Tech is online 9am-12pm, and 1pm-5pm CST...12-1 is lunch and tech time. I'm the email/net guy so you'll probably get Bernie or Thomas when you call in.

Well; 3 hours after getting my Castle link from my LHS, and trying it on my workshop computer (Vista , using the instructions on the web page about running it in administrator mode),,,and trying it on my upstairs computer running XP (where there should be no problems at all ),,,,,reloading the software several times,,,,,having it tell me that a newer version is avaliable and if I click OK, I'll be redirected to the web page,,,,,it never manages to connect to the web page,,,,,,,loading the newer version several times after going to the web page myself,,,,,,,I'm about to concied defeat that I have a 400 dollar , non programable forward only speed control............

Oh yes, and a 24 dollar useless link that is supposed to make my life so much easier........

It shouldnt be that hard. I have it working on both vista prem and xp. No issues on either install. Ditch the software that came with the unit and download the new version.

Thanks Stev, I've done that several times and it keeps telling me there is no device connected. The small red LED on the link flashes though,,,,looks pretty.

On mine, I hook up the esc to the link, then hook the link to USB port on my PC tower,, red light comes on,, then I click on the ICON on my desktop for CC link... Then the CC link page pops up, green light comes on on the CC link, and the page shows which esc is connected, as well as setting to adjust....

                            Try restarting your pc??
