    Low profile stinger?

OK guys,I need some help here.I have a cat hull here that I'm thinking of twinning. It does not have much room on the transoms for stingers.Somewhere on this web I recall seeing some that only had through bolts on the sides of the stinger and not a third on the top.I'm sure I saw them but I can't find them anywhere. Perhaps one of you guys may know. Thanks in advance, Shawn.

Well I guess these are them http://www.ebay.ca/itm/70mm-adjustab...item1e60e7f313

    So next issue,can I do a 150 flex to a 4mm shaft?So I can go one piece flex.
Or has anyone enlarged a 4mm stinger to accept a 3/16 bushing.

Seems to me you could put the stinger in a vise and drill it to whatever size you need with ease

I have these stingers on my Rivercat, the stock 4mm bushings can easily be knocked out and i replaced with 3/16 speedmasters, they fitted perfectly without any drilling and just a drop of loctite to secure.

Originally i used 4mm shafts and .130 flex, i was told .150 would fit but it was a pain to do, 3 broken flexs later and replaced the whole lot with 3/16!

@mattwarner. That is a seriously good tip!! I have that stinger x 2 on a cat and the stock bushing are of the worst quality I have ever seen. The 4 mm propshaft just warbles around in there. Did you buy the Speedmaster bushings on OSE? If so - which one of the two?

I used the first ones, i didnt buy from OSE as i am in the UK but they are the same made by speedmaster and are a perfect fit, whatever you do DONT try and hammer them out using a screwdriver! i ended up with this!

Haha I remember that from another thread. So I guess an appropriate sized dowel or pin is best?
              Thanks Matt.

Well if it is just the bushings then it may work for the Promise Hobby stingers as well. Then I will be in business.31 mm is going to be too tall but the PH ones are 24mm and they should just work.

Once the original bushings have been (carefully) drilled/pressed out, the speedmaster bushings slip in but you need to apply a bit of loctite to the bushing and leave to dry so they don't spin in the stingers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the speedmaster Bushings designed to float/spin freely?

As they should. If I were doing the stinger posted, I would drill them out with 1/4 bit, then run the 1/4 brass tube into them, then just insert my bushings. They should spin based on design

Really? That I didn't know! So the bushing should be loose to spin with the flex?
