    genesis setups, curious

Hey I bought a genesis hull not long ago, just wondering how most people set them up. I have a lot of zippy 5s 5000 mah packs (so 5s 10,000 mah)and would like to run a turnigy 180 esc, any ideas on motor/prop? I would like to go leopard 4082 or 4092 depending on what others have done.

My suggestions if you are wanting to using 5S packs :-
    Leopard 4082 1800kV or 2000kV
    Turnigy 180 ESC
0.150 flex with 3/16 prop shaft
    M445 or M545 prop
    Offset rudder
    Cheers,

    Jon

Ya I was thinking the leopard 4082 1800kv, I run two 1600kv motors in my cat and they're great.

Listen to JonD. I have made a mini career at building, rebuilding and modifying the Genesis and can tell you from lots of experience 5S is just about the perfect battery configuration and the Leo 4082 1800kv pushing M445 props nearly perfect as well.

Any chance do you know what kind of amps you are pulling or any other performance information?

As far as Amp's I have no idea. I know on a 85 degree day everything was under 105 degree's. As far as performance, First time I really got to run it hit 47.2 on Gps. with strut level with ride pads and offset rudder. Had hard time getting it to go straight, hooked to the right Hard. just did a couple mods to the rudder and strut to try get it to go straight.

I am running my genesis similarly to the above suggestion.

                Leo 4082 1800kv
                T180 with extra cap bank
                x445
                3/16 flex and lined tube
                6s2p nanos 6600mah
                stock rudder and placement

I do have some photos of the nanos in the genesis. They barley fit in the sponsons and only fit one way in and out. The most battery the genesis can handle as far as I am concerned.

Zippy has a new line of "compact" lipos. I have a set and like them just fine, I fit 3s2p 6600mah in a 23" DF Mini sniper.

Here are some 6s 3300's in the compact, same voltage and mah as your Nano's, height is much less

                          Zippy compact:
                          Length-A(mm) 148
                          Height-B(mm) 37
                          Width-C(mm) 44

                          Turnigy Nano:
                          Length-A(mm) 145
                          Height-B(mm) 53
                          Width-C(mm) 37
