    36 inch cat.

I am building a 36 inch cat. and i need a little insight. I am going to do dual motors and i want to know what motors i should use? I dont want to get too crazy in terms of money, but i want it to be fast. And what ESC would be good to use with these motors? Another question would be do both motors spin the same way or do they need to be counter rotating? I will be wanting to run 6s also.

Read some of the post for the Genesis. Twin power is very popular on these and the Genesis is a 37 inch cat.

6S and 36 inches will make for a very fast boat and will require careful attention while you are at speed.

Just for some quick recommendations think Turnigy T-180 or the Swordfish 200 for the ESC's and any good 40 mm motors like a Leo 4082 in the 1200 kv to 1400 kv range.

      Counter rotate the props.
      What do you consider "fast"?

I would consider 55-60mph fast. I currently have a stock sv27r and a proboat miss geico. This is going to be my first build.

Hmm... there are a lot of options here. That speed should be relatively easy. Do you have a budget for ESCs/motors?

About four hundred for motors/esc. Five at the most.

Expect 60mph and relatively low temps with that setup Drew.

What kind of results would that get. Sorry about that.

Here is my Genesis twin setup, 5S is perfect for this size, you can run 4S too but 6S is for bigger hull

Pretty much the same. The 4082 is much larger than what you need though, and the extra weight really hurts the handling of this hull.
I went with 3665s in mine for this reason.
You could use T-180s instead, I just like the design of the SF ESCs a little better. Either will work.
