Now that you have a pipe burn all you have to do is hit the clock and you are a real racer.

Too funny! Reminds me of when my wife hit my car in driveway. 2 down instantly.
Here's a pretty neat do-hicky.... probably not as much power as Tony's fan though....but a nice mount anyway. I ordered one today.
I'm waiting for some fuddy duddy to chime in and tell us that the fan blowing is slowing us down.Comment

Splitting hairs but the book says you can add "water" cooling. hahaha Tony has added a fan inside his boat but it's not attached to the motor.
I still say, find the sweet spot, learn to be a foot off the pins. Shortest route to winning.Noisy personComment

Doug, I may already have qualified when I received the coveted "Two For One Carnage Special Award" last year during a Sport Hydro heat in which Jeff M. was running my White FE30 and I was running my Blue one ; he flipped it on the back straight while my pit/spotter's brain was enjoying a refreshing romp in a parallel universe, and I NAILED my OWN boat with myOTHER boat at full chat.
BTW Did I mention, oh never mind. LOL

Btw- ran an abc 1717cleaver last night. What a prop! Endbell sink kept temps reasonable. 4 runs with speed range 54.1-55.8! And smooth turns! Ridiculous!Comment

Right you are. I was running with the sink in post #1 last night. After running with the sink at temp, I blew some cold water thru while holding it. Very little temp reduction if any. Not enough contact area. I am going to revisit the cad model. The internal fins would no doubt be the best, but it complicates the machining significantly. I can start with some simple water passage ways and see if they will suffice.

That's some nice speeds.
You guys have me on the hunt for a fan problem is not much room in the boats I run so the heat sink idea or something else might be the way to go. Still think a small pump to keep temps down while boat is waiting to come in would do wonders.OSE GIFTING ELF
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!Comment

Jeff -Your heat soak theory has a lot of merit. I remember watching the temp gauge in my pre 1970 car rise after I shut her down with the ignition on. Also, anyone that has blown cold water thru the cooling system 5min after a run would agree the water is coming out hot for the first few seconds (i.e. heat soak). The fact that the motor is angled upwards ain't helping those wires either.Comment
