You might want to rethink that motor choice unless that boat is real light. That motor is a low turn car motor and they have trouble with overheating when used in boats. I would try first with some of your car motors which you probably have already to see if it is a good choice before buying one. What is the length of that boat and I'm sure some of the members here can give you advice. I would go with a Supervee brushless setup.

How many cells are you going to run it on? And what size prop are you going to try?

i am thinking of just a normal 6 cell matched battery.. as for the prop.. it is like asking a wall.. i dont know anything about props.. the prop i got now is the Octura x430

If you haven't already, and by the looks of it you haven't, get that prop balanced, or get a pre-balanced prop. If you don't it will shake the drive system to pieces when you run it.

If you can't get a balancer right now you can at least try it to see if you are in the ballpark but you will need to do it eventually, or use carbon props. No idea if the prop is right but it is pretty small so I don't think it will hurt the motor but run it for no more than a minute and check the temp. If it pulling too hard it will be hot. Watch how the boat rides to adjust the CG. Start with a third of the length of the boat from the transom which would be about 7 inches.
Try to find a combo of motor and prop and cg that works. Thats the tough part, then you can fine tune it with balancing and water cooling.

Steven has balancers in the store. Also speed controls and motors.
