    Genesis w/Turnigy 180A, Leopard 3270kv, 4s - only 50kph.. Low RPMS.. What is wrong?

I bought a Leopard 3674 3270kv motor for my boat, from RCECHO.
    I have a Genesis Catamaran.
ESC is Turnigy 180A Marine. Running 2x 2s batteries in series (4s).
    Batteries are 4000 mAh 40-50C
    Esc timing set to 3.75

This boat should easily do 120+ kph. Problem is, i'm only getting 40-50 kph maximum..
Everything works properly. Not much heat. Tried different size props..
Motor just not getting the RPM up..

What could be wrong? Could it be the motor is drawing so much power the protection is turning on?
Timing Wrong? Motor labeled wrong (actually 1800kv when label says 3270kv?)..

    I'm stuck. Please help

The kv on the motor seems a bit high to me. On 4s you want 2000kv-2200kv really. I also would have gone with the bigger 4074 can. A 2200kv 4074 on 4s will run nice. My genesis with a 4074 2000kv t180 esc and an x640 prop was running around 40mph.

My timing was set to 15deg

I'm not going to buy another engine/mount etc. I've seen multiple videos of people with my configuration doing 85mph+. I'm looking for help on my setup, not recommendations for different setups

If is indeed 3750 kv you will kiss god-bay soon to the motor running on 4 S.
Or,even worse, it will break the mount and destroy everything inside.
Really, without a picture no one can guess what motor do you have....

Your running around 40000rpm unloaded which is too much IMO. That motor will have less tourque than a lower kv. I would try upping your timing. Also what props have you used? I think you will be buying a new motor for that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JksEiqJ1DLU . one of them. This is on 5s but mine should at least go 100kph.. but going maximum 50% of that.. Will try to disable the protection and use a buzzer in stead..

                    This is the motor: http://www.rcecho.com/LEOPARD-RC-Mod...tor-IM120.html
Tried 38x55 grimracer and tried 42x66 today. About same speed.. 40-50 kph.

The motor is D-wind so timing should be around 3. It was at 15 deg the first time i tried it. Same problem then.

Did you calibrate the throttle on your t180 esc?

Takes far more than a motor to go fast, Could be any number of things. Without pictures of at least the transom and preferably a video of YOUR boat running to see what it looks like on the water people will just be guessing unless it's something as simple as an esc or transmitter setting issue.
Your timing should be ok, I'd re calibrate the throttle to the esc, make sure you're getting full range of travel on the transmitter. Try running it without the LVC, run for a minute, recharge the batteries and see how much was used in that minute and base your runtime on this making sure you don't go beyond 80% capacity. You didn't say what brand of batteries. There are batteries then there are batteries. Cheapies in a lot of cases do not deliver what the label claims, with the potential amp draw of your setup there is a possiblility you just can't deliver the current and the LVC trips due to voltage sag.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

No that like 54000 rpm at peak charge. You are asking for more expense than a new motor. Jmo
