    Setups page

I'm looking to add a setups page to the forum. This will keep a list of known good setups. It doesn't matter if OSE sells it. Any parts, any hulls. Any input or other variable we should keep track of let me know and I will add it to the list.

This is the info I'm looking for.

    Boat Type?
Race Boat? If so what class?
    Manufacturer?
    Length?
    ESC?
    Motor & Winds?
    Prop?
    VERIFIED GPS speeds?

Battery Type, lith, lipo NiMh or NiCad
    Battery Specs, Mah, C ratings?
    Approximate run times?

I really dont want extreme setups. This will cause new guys to burn stuff up.

What do you guys think of this?

It would be nice if it could be set up in some sort of chart format so people could do a sort on the boat name, motor size etc...Some sort of Excel format perhaps.
Not sure if thats possible, but it would be cool.

I think it's a great idea because it would be one stop shopping for answers to lot of questions.

I like it! Amp and temp readings would be nice too.

It's a really good idea man. I think the thread should be moderated though. Setups should be submitted and aproved then posted. This way there will be less policeing and clean up .

                C'mon man!! You know that 6xl on 8s with a 450 3 blade in a 38"cat and a Hydra 120 should have worked.

Excellent suggestion Steven! ReddyWatts has been diligent in posting complete setups in his "Ideas on Building..." sticky. I submitted a detailed thread on my first build, the Mean Machine in a similar format as you have posted. If I may suggest, the addition of PHOTOS would also be helpful to people just starting out.

I was also thinking about a spread sheet style of format. I will start to get it going.

I am still pretty new to the boat side of rc and I would REALLY like something like this! I probably won't have anything to contribute for a while, but I would appreciate the info.

Just a thought, what about a manufacturer board rather than specific model boards on the main page?

Ex: Aquacraft - then there, the topics of SV27, Mini Rio, etc. can pe posted

Ex: Pro Boat - then there, the topics of Bl Blackjack, Fastech, Mini-V, Mini-C etc. can be posted

That way, as more models come out, the main board isn't confusing.

NO NO NO, that setup will draw like 90A I am guessing. You would have to go to 10S for more rpm with less amp draw. YES SJFE, I think your right. It should be moderated for accuracy and proven safe setups. Good idea Steven.
