    rudder placement 101

Hey Guys. About to build an ac cat. Can anyone tell me what i would notice with a speedmaster type rudder that basically sits up tight to the hull, compared to a rudder that is connected to a bracket that hangs off the back a ways? Thanks

Well farther back is farther from the turning axis, therefore more turning power. You might not want this though as it could result in sensitive cornering and driving difficulty. Do some research and try to find other builds of the same boat. The exact hardware/ motor setup doesn't matter in this case because you're looking at hardware placement.
