Silicone water jackets for a Neu motor

Does anyone know if they fit the Neu motors? I need a water jacket for my Neu 1515 but space is very tight under the hatch and the 1.9" that the Aluminum jacket is going to be very tight and may not even fit in my hull. I was told that the Neu's really don't need water cooling but I want to be safe. Does anyone know if the silicone jacket is smaller in diameter than the aluminum jacket?

It is smaller Radee. We used them on 1515s until Steven produced the aluminum jackets.
They work well but tend to leak (spray) at around 50 mph. We didn't experiment with flow restriction but you could probably solve the problem that way.

Yeah I have seen them leak and worried about even trying one. I guess I could limit the power on my boat and run in the 40's......naaaa what fun would that be

I guess I will just buy the aluminum jacket and take my chances.

Yes sir, we had to do some retro fitting in order to use the OSE jackets in our existing builds but it was well worth it.

          Hey Ray,
I use one on my 15151y and haven't had any leaking drama's as yet. You can try smearing silicon around the edge of the jacket before you install it to insure it doesn't leak

Doug's correct, in very fast boats the pressure is high enough to lift the jacket if its not very tight. I have suggested to some people to reduce the water flow in some manner and its worked. Heath's method also works.

We did try to seal the jackets with silicone but to no avail. It wouldn't bond well to the jacket, and for whatever reason, it bonded to the Neu motor even less. I guess our boats are just too darn fast. LOL
Oh well, we are happy boaters now. Steven, you are the man.

By the way, my order arrived today. One Vac-U -Pickle with the SV27 setup coming up!!!!

                I'll post a vid when she's done.

Doug let me know how well that motor works in that hull. I was thinking about going in that direction because it is cheap but I am also considering a 2s setup with a S motor or a low wind L motor.

As far as the Aluminum water jacket goes I did some measuring last night and it looks like that jacket will JUST fit in my Whiplash. I am making a new sub hatch for it tonight.
