    high throttle cut-out

Guys I have a hextronik 120A esc watercooled and am running an 8xl with 4S 1P in my supervee 27 and for some reason when I nail the throttle it winds up and cuts out. About a week ago it got wet but has set next to a de-humidifier for all this time. I picked it up outta the water and full throttle seemed fine and didnt cut out. I quit running and my packs were at 7.3 and 7.1. This all happened right off the bat and even after a few minutes packs were in 80's and motor was in 80's. esc was 90 degrees. Im only running a carbon 45mm prop. ANY IDEAS???

Mike prop down and see if that changes anything. Damaged esc's don't always go @ once. Fluid has stated in many posts damage may be cumulative. You may have just hurt it.

chances are it is going bad. darn. It ran great the other night but then got wet. I have dried them out before but maybe once too many. that sucks royally cause it was my tape job that let the water in. Tom knows as well as I the boat itself is water tight. She was dry tonight as well. what a bumber. I will try it again with a smaller prop and see what happens but it should be able to swing a 48mm prop. It did last year.

I STRONGLY suggest you use thrust bearings on these motors. Its not that the motor wasnt quality I got alot of runs on it but, over time the bearings got loose and allows alot of slop. Soo much that motor is binding. Even if you put them on loose as new they will help with long term fatigue. Ugh. Back to one boat again.

OK, scratch that. for now I am down to using the hammer to play with.... how sad really. I am also done trying to use air/heli esc's from china as this one was brand new and well, theres really no sense in trying to send it back. I have changed the old 8xl out with brand new one with thrust bearing and am taking the plunge and going to order my first hydra 120 this week. I would imagine the setup will work out nicely for the SV hull.
