    Toysport Syncron Maiden voyage HELP

Hi guys....I FINALLY got a chance to take my Syncron out for a few test runs. Everything seemed to run smooth and cool. My problem is it was slow as hell. I cant figure out what the problem is. Im running the TP 4050 2180KV with a turnigy 180A esc with extra cap bank (see original thread...http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hlight=syncron) I ran two flightpower 4900mah 2s 25C. They were both balanced charged before going out. The Lipos are from 07 but have minimal cycles and have been stored at storage rate and kept in the fridge. Im running the lipos in parallel.
Could it be the lipos ? I have two other sets of thunder power that are from 07 as well that I havent tried but dont have any new or anyone around here that runs lipos with bullets. Dont want to spend the money on new lipos if thats not the problem. Any one have any suggestions ? I checked all settings on my remote and everything seemed fine. I havent done any adjustments to the esc just installed right out of the box after the cap bank was added. Should I be changing the esc setting ? Need help....
Heading to the cottage for a week the first week of aug and want this thing tuned in before then.
    Thanks

    Ryan, Mystery solved !! You're running 2 X 7.4V batteries in PARALLEL. Net voltage = 7.4V. 7.4 X 2180KV = 16,132 rpm unloaded at the prop.

    Run your batteries in SERIES. 7.4V + 7.4V = 14.8V 14.8 X 2180KV = 32,264 rpm prop speed unloaded. ZOOM ZOOM !

Some fresh batteries are likely in order as well - 2 X 4S 4000mah 45C/90C would work well IN PARALLEL

Im really confused on this series and parallel connection. Does someone have a diagram on each. I have 2 2s batteries with the black 5mm bullet on one battery plugged into the red bullet on the other battery and the two remaining 5mm bullets plugged into the esc... Is that parallel ? How do i connect in series ?
      Sorry for the newb questions

Go to the ose main site and look in the "tips" section-- there are interactive wiring diagrams there.

If you are using bullet connectors then it is real easy as you do not need any harnesses.

You would take the positive lead of battery A and connect it directly to the negative lead of battery B. Then connect the negative lead of battery A to the esc, and then connect the positive lead of battery B to the esc.

It does not matter which order you do this, just be sure you don't short circuit the packs by connecting both battery leads into each other...

        EDIT:
        Found the link:

You have it correct here for series.

Your 40x82 motor can easily pull in the 100-120a range in that setup, and your tired 5 year old Lipos only put out 123 amps constant when they were new, i bet they are providing around 100-110 now which means your motor draw is surpassing what your batteries can supply, the Pursuit in my signature below runs a 4082 2200kv(almost identical to your motor) and I run it on 4s2p, meaning TWO 4s batts in parallel, mine are putting out well over 300 amps and I have all the gusto I need.

You may get away with 1p if they are 5000 mah and 40c MINIMUM
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

So my batteries must be the issue.
Would I be better running 2 2s in series or 2 4s in parallel ??

2 4s in parallel gives you more amps..........or punch. You can also run four 2s batts, two sets of 2 in series, then paralleled if you have four 2s batts.

                I do have 4 2s batteries. Won't weight be a factor ?

                    Update:
                    Maiden voyage #2
New batteries installed. 2 2s turnigy nano techs 5000mah 45-90c.
This thing flies and runs like a beaut. I was able to get the batteries positioned correctly for optimal run performance and have it flip back over with the flood chamber. I will post vids soon. I didn't have a gps on hand but mid to high 40's would be my guess. Love this hull!

Glad you got it running. I love mine. Every now and then I'll get her up to speed on the straights and flick the TX right/left/right and induce a barrel roll...
