    Motor/ESC Help

Ok guys I'm building a 58" Fountain from Central RC Hobbies and need a hand with the motor, esc, batteries and prop. I wanna be in the 45+ range for speed.

For my motor I was thinking of the Leopard 5892 835Kv 4D
ESC thinking the Castle Creations Hydra Ice2 200HV
batteries I was looking at 2 Max Amps Hard Case Race Edition LiPo 6500Mah 4-cell 14.8v Battery Packs wired in series.
and prop maybe an octura x447 to begin with and go from there but if you'd suggest something bigger and better that'd be great

do you guys think this will work?? if not give me some tips. all the help I can get is greatly appreciated.

Motors and esc is fine for what you are doing, 457 props are more suited for the hull size. I would even go 2 x 5s in series. No need for the hard case, could cause a problem if the batteries puff abit. 45mph should be easy done.

I see ur point on the 2x 5S but i was worried about too much voltage and turning the motor too hard.
what about 2 LiPo 6500 5-cell 18.5v Battery Packs in series from max amps.
that would put it at 10S with 37 volts and if I understand it correctly 30,895 rpm. just dont wanna push it too hard and pop it. but if that's a decent rpm then I'd be ok with it
or i could change the motor to a castle 2028 780kv and it would be 28,860 rpm

I assume you are wealthy if buying lipos from MaxAmps. Don't forget to get the water cooled ones. I'm just kidding, really.

You won't find too many people around here who would agree Maxamps are good batteries or offer value for the money. I personally cannot recommend Turnigy products but many people swear by them. I only buy Hyperion and more recently Haiyin. The Haiyin's offer great value and outstanding performance. Good luck with your research. BG

I don't recommend max amps. Hyperion or thunder are great packs. I'm currently using sky lipos with good results.

Well I think I'm gonna go with the turnigy 8000mah 5s batteries. And according to the calculator on here it should do 62 but since it's such a big boat I figure maybe upper 50's.... Gotta get an external BEC too since the castle one I want don't have one. But other than that thanks for the info guys.

Might give some thought to checking with Mark F. His store, performancerclipos.com has excellent batteries. Mark has considerable experience with 42" - 92" setups as well.
