    I want to run 6s

What motor will handle 6 cells? I am putting it in a hydro, and want to know if the 9 xl will hanlde the volts? According to the carts it will handle up to 24 cells, so in theory it should handle 6 cells right? Ive run it on 4s and it does fine , and even on 5s it was ok. But I am not sure of the 6s! I have a hydra 120 esc! Let me know what you think, or what motor I can run to acheive this goal?

mmm, 9xl... NO 6S. It will ruin your fine esc and perhaps a lipo cell. TRUST me. hydra really shouldnt be run at 6S even though it is said they will. SOME do but if you read in the forum they may not warranty it. you should go with something that will turn around 30,000 rpm if you wanna run 6S go with HV esc. What size hydro anyway?

from what i have been told. the new hydras have a re designed "parts"... lets not go into detail" which allow them to take a REAL 6S lipo
but that is what i have been told. and you might also have a older hydra Thus not included in the new batch of esc's that was put out

On the ESC , you pays your money and takes your chances :-) . I'd use a HV for 6S
        Figure Lipos will produce 3.5 V under load X 6 S = 21 V . 30,000 rpm divided by 21 = a KV of 1420
You can adjust up or down depending how your going to use it and what you think you can get away with :-)

A 9XL is too much for good 6S packs. You will need to run a very small prop and even then amp draw will be high - too high IME for a Hydra120. A far better choice would be an 11XL or 12XL, these will still be very fast but will give you more options on props and will draw fewer amps.

The Castle LV Hydras are not warranteed for over 3S. They are marginal on 6S, I do not use them for more than 4S in any high amp application. You might be able to do it, but not with a 9XL.
