Question about programming Seawing 180 ESC

I just programmed my new ESC and try to save the programming by following the directions (releasing throttle after the value set when I hear the special rising tone). When I disconnect my batteries and reconnect to check my settings, I am back at the factory settings. Any hep or suggestions on how to correct this are much appreciated.
