its no wonder why australians shop for boats here in america when you see prices like this no wonder F/E boating isnt hugely popular over here http://www.nbhc.com.au/products/EP-S...-RED-BOAT.html for an sv27r

yep, that's what I said, lol. It's terrible. -
I think the $440 AUD for the VS1 is even more ridiculous. It's a wood and foam hull with no electronics or hardware.
That's $447 US people!
Australia's import tariffs must be insane. Could be that they're trying to block foreign trade as much as possible to protect their domestic markets and not get over run by imported "affordable" (cheap) stuff. So now, even just to get cheaply made stuff, you are forced to pay premium prices for it.Comment

Yes its absolutely ridiculous but the thing is thats what makes us go with foreign trade they dont see that the very thing there using to try and protect australia is the very same thing thats doing it harm of course im going to buy US because i can get the same boat for half the price and buy everything for it for less then buying the boat over here alone.
I seen a spartan for almost 1000 dollars in a store once you could build an insane F/E boat for that and run a neu motor and castle hydra esc and have top notch hardware for that price or even less.
Its no wonder we shop foreign if the even sold it for say 400 it wouldnt be too bad they are still making almost a hundred dollars profit because after shipping from the US it almost work out even.Comment

Wow and I thought we got ripped off in the UK. Well we do but not that much.Comment

yes prices are no where near as bad in the U.K but then again our dollar is just over half of your pounds or something like that lol but unfortunately aussies are best buying from the states unless you know somebody who has a decent second hand boat or trying ypur luck with ebay but the items for sale sub forum on here seems to be pretty good for prices but you have to be quick hahaComment

add this to the LHS issues, I just heard that refrigeration gas has jumped from $38per kilo to $210per kilo...........carbon tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will hurt the "Australian made" whitegoods companies like "Email"- simpson/electrolux/kelvinator/westinghouse ect. as they'll need to charge more for fridges and freezers that can already be produced at lower costs elsewhere, what are we doing to our country!!!!!!!!!!Comment
-
who knows what we are doing to our country mate lol and yes 450 for the apparition is rediculous i remember seeing a genesis on a website for like 650 and upwards much cheaper to buy from hobbyking or fightercat and bulid it yourself but for a fee ben could probably put so much of it together for you.Comment
