    Timing help- Pursuit w/Leo 4074

Getting ready to run this boat this weekend!

    I have a Hobbywing 180, Leopard 4074 2200kv, m445 prop, 4s2p 9000mah total.

Im a sport runner not a racer. Of course I want the best performance I can get without compromising the reliability.

Wanting to program my ESC tomorrow.

Question on that also. I disabled the BEC on the ESC. I have a UBEC. I took the end thats in the receiver plugged it into the program box. I took the UBEC end and plugged it into the power one on the box. No lights!??? Ive used this box on another ESC without issue.

For sport running set the timing on the conservative side and save your equipment.

Yeah, for only 4s just use the BEC, alot simpler.

You should see right at 45-47 mph out of that setup trimmed correctly.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

        7.5 degree? or 11.25?

Stock configuration is 15 which would be to high I would think.

I use the built-in BEC too, never had a problem, but going back to your original post, you mentioned after using external battery, there wasn't any lights in the programing box, it is my understanding that you still need to plug in the main battery to the ESC for the sequence to work. I am only saying this because you didn't mention the ESC is connected to the main battery.
I could be wrong of course.

I did plug the main batt in.

TO be clear I didnt use a battery for the box. I was hoping the UBEC would power it?

I have run it on 5s with 42mm prop from 7,5-15degrees. Temperature was the same.
Speed little bit higher but not big difference.

If you disconnected the red wire from the ESC's bec plug , reconnect it . Hook battery to ESC and program the ESC , them disconnect the red wire if you still want to run a separate bec . If you intend to run 4s or 5s there is no need to run a separate bec as this ESC has a switching bec circuit .

Why keep reconecting the red wire on the esc plug, dont disconect it in the first place simply get a short servo extention lead & plug it into the esc plug then disconect the red wire on the extention plug if you run with no bec. If you want to run with a bec or programe the esc just disconect the extention & plug the esc plug in.

I did this and it worked.

I dont understand why the UBEC wasnt able to power the program box? It should of appeared just like another power source?
