Visual difference between thermal shut down and throttle fail-safe

I maidened my Lizard Xtreme today, Leo 2000kv, Seaking 180ESC with Etti Cap bank and M445, 4s2p 5000Mah, 40C. Spektrum tx and Mr3000 rx.
Out a distance motor shut down , by the time the boat was retrieved everything worked again. I have to admit I did not use an antena tube, both wires were inside hull, and forgot to tape the longer one under the hatch like I usually do.
Ran again, ( changed batteries in the tx although they were full) this time with longer wire taped under the hatch, never a problem, temps were 120* at the caps on ESC and motor was never higher than 110*
One of my Tactic would have issue with distance and will go to fail-safe, but will re-arm if I walk towards the boat or raise my tx to a higher position.
Today I could never re-arm right after it happened, so, I don't know if it is Thermal shut down or fail-safe kicking in, any ideas?
Too many boats, not enough time...
