    lack of female participants.

Off the top of my head i can only think of 3-4 female FE boaters.

Is this because rc hobbies are stereotypically considered to be a mans domain?

Would having a pink rtr offering increase female interest? Do woman simply think their money is better spent on purses and shoes?

I have recently been hearing a lot about the growth of FE boating and can't help but to think half (roughly) of the population isn't even being considered as a target market.

What can we (male fe boaters) do to promote this hobby as a viable source of entertainment for our female counter parts.

Feel free to share your thoughts and expand on the topic.

Have Jeff do a Firefighters in FE calender!!

I know you are serious but I couldn't resist. It is a consistent in many "sports".I used to be heavily into cars(gearhead)and knew hundreds of local guys. And out of those only one woman. She was good at it.Had her own shop and everything. I would like to see more females into it.It is a nice way to spend an afternoon at the lake.

I don't know any personally, the one I have seen raced as good as her husband.
I think the main reasons are related to culture. Furthermore, socially women are typically less attracted to building models and thinking through all the electrical mumbo jumbo. How many girls do you see at the car track? The flying field? I suspect that boaters represent less than 1 in 100 if not 1000 Rc junkies. Add on top of that the already low occurrence of female Rc junkies and this is how I see the issue.

I don't think it's the color; Lionel has been there and I don't think that it worked ti bring in the girls...

Most women are not mechanical oriented. But even thinking what if someone was to give a woman a boat thats ready to run- all they gotta do is drive.

Ive tried this with my woman. Just not much interest in it. Ive tried it with my daughter and again not to much interest but she had some. Now shes growing into her teen years I dont think she cares.

Joking or not, that doesn't seem like too bad of an idea.

My Gf likes to drive mine, but i could never see her blueprinting a sponson or sharpening a prop.

so is it a fundamental psychological difference ? Or is it a product of our society?

I remember my sisters having a pink rc barbie corvette when we were younger.

I guess i get why we don't see more females , but surely there is a way to change that, isn't there?

I met my wife 26 years ago when she showed up at a rc car track in Del Mar. She has raced car, planes and boats. Sometime its great, sometimes not.
Just remember, you just end up buying 2 of everything!

My wife does'ent care about anything exept BINGO, but when she wins she slipe me a couple of bucks which goes to my hobby.
just like any other hobby with men she thinks it's a money pit,
I wish she could get into it, but thats just wishfull thinking.
got to get a younger wife, yea right. they got the ( p) and all the money. keep them happy and you will sooner or later get what you want.

I would love to see women in FE. But in bikinis around the pond
Maybe the girl from Gfreak would be interested.

But on a serious note i have not seen many involved with rc-cars either. Out of a few hundred guy you may get 1 woman.

My wife and daughter have ZERO interest in RC... believe me, I have tried...

Lucky for me my daughter likes fencing, fishing, and archery (my other hobbies)

I was going to suggest that to generate interest.I have a buddy who has an entertainment business,he has pretty girls to sit on your car/bike,hold you're boat, go to your event. That probably wouldn't generate the right kind of interest though.
