    33" hor racing hydro???

Has anyone tried or know anything about the Hor racing ARR 33" hydro?

I would like to know how it runs, quality and any known problems.

Its one of many that i'm considering....

    Thanks!

    Hi there
    well
its build quality is probably something similar to the genesis.

its a TFL Hobbies build. to be honest, i havent seen one go, but it might not take much to get it running well either

Okay thanks, not sure who TFL are but i know of the genesis and a few of the other boats the store has.

I'm now considering the insane 30 hydro, who knows what it will be tomorrow. I can only find one place that seems to be selling them...

TFL is an Asian OEM that produces almost all of the rc boat product coming from China that is re-badged as what you'll see under more familiar names. Much of their product is decent, and their entry-level boats are accessably priced for sport boating purposes. If you read the threads here and elsewhere you'll find that they often lack in build quality, and the way they're powered almost always results in re-powering to give satisfactory performance.

OTOH the Insane FE30 is a purpose-built raceboat hull that is meant for serious competition yet often is acquired by those desiring trouble-free high-performance sport running. Insane Boats only makes the hull and hardware and it needs to be built by the purchaser. I am the designated builder for the FE Insane Boats ; the FE30 and the IB34 mono, and can provide build services when desired in various levels of completion.

The HOR 33" hydro looks like a nice boat for the money, and it'll give you the opportunity to learn basic upgrading skills. The FE30 will require a substantially larger initial investment but will vastly outperform (and outlast) the HOR boat.

          Decisions, decisions !!

Thanks Tony for all the information!

I would love to buy one of your built boats but i'm not in a position to do that any time soon.

I ended up getting a cheap china boat a while back... it's an old school thunder boat from HK, costs about 200 needs radio, servo and esc, haven't ran it yet everything installed just haven't had the time to get it wet. The overall finish is quite good although needs some extra strengthening around the turn fin and the canopy wing.

It looks so cool i've been happy to let it just sit on the shelf. I will be getting it wet soon, but not until i come back from overseas.

When the time comes, check back in ; there's lots of ways we can assist getting your boat up & running.Bigger, better, faster is an addiction that many of us fall prey to, not always with the pleasure and satisfaction you can get from a more modest but "less stress" day on the water with a nice, basic rig.

              Safe Travels,
