    Neu 2215 1440kv Question Help

Anyone know if this would be a good 6s motor, or 8s setup pushing a 45" Hydro Hull? With 8s, what Prop would be recommended? Thanks.

I think it would be a good 6s motor.............better get a high amp speedo though. You can probably expect low 50's.

    I'm thinking in the x455, x457, x452/3 range on prop for 6s.

Ideally you would want an 8s motor in the 1000-1100kv range for that hull.

I'd like to see high 70 mph sprint's, I'v heard of some guys running 8s on the 1440kv with an x457 and getting into the 80's with right setup. I'd like to go 8s if possible. Little more weight in the hull.

The 2215 is not as powerful as some folks think, its just a bit more powerful than a 1527. How long is this hull? Seems like to reach those speeds you would need more motor...........2028 or 2230..............just my opinion.

Yep. That's too much boat for that motor IMO. I never tried 8s on it.

That motor is best used 6S unless you are using it for SAW's. Pushing a 45" proboat will overload this motor if you are trying to hit 70mph. The 2028 is a much better motor suited for a big hull on 8S.

That boat will explode if it crashes at 50 mph. Better reinforce it. A lot!

I disagree on the Power. 8s is to much on that motor. But Put it on 6s in the proper size hydro hull and you will top 80mph.

I run the 2215 (1024kv) on 9s with a 462 in a Hydro and the thing does 80+ all day. No water cooling on the Motor either.

I do agree though on the 45" Hull being to large for that 2215. I run a 2220 in my gas Whip. 10s 70+ all day.

I agree with Howard here. I`d get a 2215 1.5Y 1020Kv and run it on 8s or the 2028 (no experience, but they seem to work in these setups). I run a 2215 1.5Y in my 45" Lazer and its runs over 60mph in heat racing conditions with zero heat issues. I run a 180HV in it. Never had an issue. Its got a lot more power than an equal Kv 1527 IMO. I run a 1527 1.5Y on 10s in my 42" Seaducer, which is smaller, lighter, and a faster straightline hull than the lazer and I need to push the setup a bit to get it close to what the lazer can do coasting with the 2215.

FYI, I asked Mr. Neu about the difference between a 1530 and 2215, he said the 1530 is a better motor for higher rpm applications.
