I have run an ICE240 for over a year without problems - that includes a lot of SAW runs setting records. After the SAW race the ICE went into my P Sport Hydro and was raced a lot. Zero problems, it is rock solid. The datalogging feature is wonderful, the Swordfish does not have that feature. The ICE has a maximum voltage of 8S while the Swordfish can handle up to 12S, that could be the deciding factor.

Fluid, Do you use the internal BEC or seperate battery power sorce for receiver and servos. I have heard BEC works good up to 6s. Questionable on 8s.

I have only run the ICE on 4S and 6S. Tyler has stated that there may be problems using the BEC on 8S, but I have no direct knowledge either way.

Just to clarify the ICE 240 works great on 8S, but the BEC circuit seems more vulnerable so I would recommend removing the middle power wire and running an external reciever battery.

It records a number of performance parameters while you are running - you download them to a 'puter later. Voltage, amps, ripple, temp, watts, rpm.....very useful when tuning a boat.

swordfish models have the logging options now. For the swordfish 240hv OSE only stocks the version with no logging feature. Because the added cost of logging brought the cost close to the cost of the swordfish 300 pro plus with logging.

Be sure to enter Pole Count and KV of motor to get acurate rpm reading on graph. You do this by clicking Window icon button named Castle Link Graph Viewer. When graph screen pops up you will see edit at top. Click on edit then click on change motor pole count/gearing
