    36" Twin Cat motor choice?

I'm looking for a more saw power setup for a 36 inch cat hull. I need to stay under a 4s setup, and looking for mid 70 mph range, if not a bit more before the hull takes flight.

I'v been looking at two Neu 1512 2D 2600KV on 4s on a set of x430's and two 200+amp esc's. I'm not too boat up to date here, is 4s to hot for these motors with correct cooling? Thanks.

I think it's the question you asked.
You want to build a SAW boat but ask if the motors are too hot for correct cooling. I think people are comfortable telling you whether a motor is "too hot" or a reliable choice in the arena of sport boating or oval racing, but in SAW racing it's a difficult question to answer. You typically are not going to run a reliable/low risk setup in SAW, and your setup will not likely be ok with correct cooling in the long term.

Also, I think you will come across 2 people within this subject:
      -People who don't know
-People who do and want to use the info for themselves.

I dont think the kv is too hot for SAW. If its strictly SAW or SAW type runs, I would go with a higher kv. My 32" twin cat ran 81mph on gps with 2800kv motors on 4s. Im assuming you absolutely have to run 4s?

Finally, thank you for the response. My question was off a bit, I'm not looking to break any records, or race, just looking for the most reliable, fast setup that won't give me issue's. I'm shoot between a 32-41" Cat hull, twins for sure.

I'd like to see a good mid 70 to 80mph pass, I'll just be running burst runs, not constant. But even then, how reliable is a setup for SAW passes if used correctly?

I'm seeing a few good twin cat's running twin Scorpion outrunner's, Say... 1600kv on 6s, but there only running 60's.

With the 1600kv Scorpion's, on 8s be over too hot, and kill my ESC's?

I'm sticking to 442's if possible...

          Thanks for the help.

I really loved this boat. It was built for SAW type runs, but nothing official. Been thinking about doing another cat like this. Give this thread a read and see if it helps.

Have you seen the Carbon fiber twin cat on HORRACING.com? It's like 550.00...but looks very very clean and pretty well setup interior.. its 41". Id like to install some outrunner's in it lol. 1600kv 8s?
