Winter may not be so bad.

I have to admit that I sorta chuckle when I hear about the guys up north that can't run because of the ice while I'm lovin it here Texas.
    Well payback is a b..ch.
Most of the good ponds around here have already got so much moss on them that it's tough to find a place, not to mention the friggin heat.

We get the algae and crap growing in our lakes and ponds too. It is getting harder for me to find a place as well and I live in the land of 10,000 plus lakes.

Local lake uses chemicals to keep growth down. Plus the water is pretty merky so not much sun getting in. They also have some sort of boat that clears the bottom I guess. Not to mention the big filtration system. I'll consider myself lucky from now on.

My pond starts getting weedy around the banks by the end of May. I have to wade out in knee deep water just to launch. Yea winter is not so bad.

I wouldn't have even bought a boat had the lake in my back yard not been suitable for running in. We used to have problems with growth until they brought the carp in.

Or (if you have permission, or if the pond is on your property) you could use this:

              http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategor...Vail-Colorants

It blocks out the light reducing weed growth. The blue stuff makes those brown ponds a surprisingly nice blue (like a quarry pond blue).

It's funny you mentioned that. I went to go check our favorite pond which is on a jr college today and noticed it was very blue in the shallow area unlike I have ever seen it.
We have not been able to run on it for weeks now but the vegetation was noticeably reduced today. Maybe I'll be able to run on it soon
                Thanks for the tip.
