Need opinions on my next project!

So I have recently bought the genesis catamaran from hobby king, and I will say I got what I expected for the motor (stock) and the esc (120 amp) and batteries (2x2 cell) I used. But I wanna go faster! Do you guys recommend buying better motor esc and batteries, or should I go with an entirely new platform? I still have yet to buy a rigger kit so I'm thinking about that as an alternate to upgrading my genesis. I was thinking of buying the jae21 fe rigger kit. The only reason i would stay away from it is that my lake is not always completely calm, so I like the usability of the cat. Is that the price I must pay for extreme speed and handling?

Ultimate question: upgrade genesis, or buy the rigger?

Ps. Is this a good rigger kit, or are there better ones out there?

How fast do you want to go and how deep are your pockets? Use the search function, there is loads if info on the genesis but like I say it depends on what you want. Plus dont forget the faster you go the shorter your run times.

I have seen the genesis pushed to 80 with dual props, but I don't want to fuss with double the money there. Ive seen 60 with single drive so I would aim for that. But would a cat even be able to corner well at higher speeds? The rigger will pull 50 with the esc and motor from the ul-1 superior hydro. I plan on putting in a little more power and pushing for 60-70+

Te only reason I would lean to the rigger is that this things just whip through turns! I'm worried about the cats handling
      At high speed.

And doing the calculations, I can afford one or the other, but not both.

Hey you are in good company here on this subject. I have the Genesis (I really like it) and a ton of other boats with most of my fleet being gas and nitro riggers. If you have rough water conditions the cat doesn't bring much to the party. I would consider a deep vee on that basis. While I do not own one I would liketo own the UL-1 as from what I can tell it is hard to get more bang for the buck and I have been surprised at how well it ran it pretty rough conditions. Still upgrading the Genesis may be the cheapest option if that performance increase will satisfy your needs. Like James pointed out the higher speeds will shorten your run times and may or may not increase your fun time. Take it from my first hand expereince, I upgraded my Genesis to a point that I wished i would not have done. If I could back up and have a do over my Genesis would still be the prettiest boat I fell in Love with the first time I saw it. Instead I have extensive repair work to fix the damage one little hickup caused just because I wanted to get over 60 mph and not being satisfied at 56.7 mph. The stock Genesis is beautiful, in my opinion, but not sturdy enough to handle the stresses or risk from higher performence. Low to mid 50's are easy, stay there and be happy. My advice, put your money in something else if you want to go faster.

Ok. Thank you for your input! I think I will then go with the rigger as the mornings on our lake are always glass! looks like I'm gettin up early for charging!

Once again thanks you for the help!

Check this out. Google the line below it is from R2Hobbies.com I am working to find out more information but it is interesting in my opinion. The Sea Arrow. They make a wooden version and this is the fiberglass version.

I will search the forums and see what I can find out.

Haha ya I already looked at that! It seems to be an okay rigger but I have heard a few guys say that the assembly is a little sub-par for the fiberglass one. I don't know about the wood one though!
