    What a good HV boat?

    I'm a newb to boats. My only experience is a Reef Racer 2 that I converted to brushless. Way too much power for the little boat!

    Anyway, I have a Lehner 1950 8t and two 4s 5000mah batteries that I would like to use in a boat. So, I have a couple questions for the boating experts.

    1) Is 8s too much voltage for a 1950 8t in a boat (~46,000 rpm)?

    2) If not, what size boat would be best for this level of power?

    I forgot to mention that I want to get a deep V boat that will be for sport running, not racing.

      I think 8s is too much voltage in any boat with that high of a KV motor. Guys are running 8s in 36"+ boats but with lower KV motor's.

        Is that because the prop would be spinning too fast?

          No, it's because it would shoot your amps way too high... things would get toasty quick,
          specially in a Mono... I am not a mono expert but have seen fast guys HV setups around
          25000 rpm (depending on the boat), spinning a big prop. There are plenty of guys with nice Monos here that can tell you about it.
          Not sure if your motor choice is ideal, you may need a bigger can...
          just my 2 cents.
          :::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::

            The 1950 8T Lehner is a very good motor. Similar to a 10 XL in size. Kv and weight.

            Use this motor on 4S Lipo's and an X445 prop. Mono hull size 29" to 33". Once you get this dialed in, you can experiment with hotter (bigger) props, like an X645, X447.

            Get a cooling jacket for the motor.

              Is there a way to mount one 4s lipo transversely in a hull instead of mounting two 2s batteries longitudinally on each side? Would it be unstable set up like that?

                I guess another option would be to use the two lipos in parallel to give me 4s 10,000mah.

                Does anyone sell a pre-assembled boat that only needs electronics installed that would run well with my motor and batteries? I don't know a thing about building boats and would hate to screw it up.
