    quick fiberglass question

Hey guys, I just have one quick question... I am getting my blackjack custom painted, so I really want to keep the paint looking nice... My only problem is how flimsy the tunnel and bow are so its easy to get stress cracks... I've also seen were the molds of the hull split, so I want to reinforce it.... But my dad said that the fiberglass can dry at different "heats" and can crack the paint/fiberglass underneath... Has anybody heard of this?? & btw me and him know how to lay fiberglass... I've been around high performance boats all my life.

    Thanks, Shane

Im not familiar with Polyester resin if that heats up during the process of drying.
With Epoxy resin it should not be a problem, never had that heating up (ony when you have a lot of it left in a mixing cup and the Potlife is over and it starts to react then it will heat up.) But for reinforcing the hull you will not have it heat up at all

Epoxy resin does heat up when it cures, but never had any issues with it cracking the paint.
