It would seem that some esc's need to be programed with near pinpoint accuracy. Stevens' listing for the Leo 4092, 2080kv, states; 3.5D, AND 2.5D.
Soooo, which is it?
Ok that's because of the D wind correct?
I've got my speedo set to 15* right now..
things did get a little warm yesterday at the races..
I'll bump it down
thanks

It would seem that some esc's need to be programed with near pinpoint accuracy.
It would be near impossible to do this. In order for this to be accomplished a motor and esc would need to be tested and fine tuned together as a pair by a factory. I always start my testing with low timing. Then fine tune from there. Moving up in timing until the speed results are the same, but the motor is hotter than previously. Then move a bit back in timing from there.
10 - 15degrees are for y wind motors, d wind will run hotter at that timing.
If I could stay on this just a min..
getting hotter with higher timing without more speed = wasted amps right?
both my motor and esc were right at 125* each runing 4s with a x645 prop in a DF33
