    neu 1527/1D esc timing

    Hi guys,

what is the appropriate timing for 1527/1D motor? i know that neutronics suggested 0 degrees to start off with but i would like to hear from the guys who tested it at the lake. I will be spinning a m445 in 33 cat with this motor. thanks

Battlefury, I have no hands on experience with this motor, but everything I have read on this forum leads me to believe 5 degrees is max advance for Neu D wind versions (5 degrees is preferred). Forum member Fluid has LOTS of experience with the 1521 1.5 d (1860kv) and some experience with the 1527/1d you mention.

thanks for the input, i will do it in a old fashion way one or two passes with incremental timing starting from 0 to 5 with temp checks. Will report back here with my findings.

My 1527/1D is set at 0 degrees using a Schulze 40.160 runs fine in a hydro. Dont race but I know Tyler, Brian and Jay all have used that motor/esc combo in racing. Maybe they will chime in what they liked. Seems there was an issue with low inductance motors using the 40.160 but I am not having any problems with the V20 software.

I used 2 degrees in my extreme SAW setups, but frankly I never tested anything else. Steve Neu told me personally to use less than 5 degrees and the exact value would probably make no difference. The boats went fast.....

Yeah, very low timing on mine. I'll run 5 Deg on 4S for 2-lap racing and 0 Deg for 6S SAW. According to the data I only noticed a very very small gain increasing the timing from 2 Deg to 5 Deg. Stay low.

can the higher timing actually slow the motor if your around 11* or more on a D wind?

I doubt it will slow it down, but it will make it run a lot hotter......

Now I gotta go check mine. I haven't run that boat since last summer.
