Help setting up K&B 3.5 OB.

I am finally getting around to using my KnB outboard. Its got all the hyper performance parts. (Mount, propshaft, flex) but when I get my grim 3 blade mounted it poses a problem for cooling.. see pic.
What should I do for the water pickup on this unit?
I have an x440 but its currently mounted on my friends BJ26 so it does me no good. Lolz

I've got one I'll be using on a Hot Shot soon. The cavitation plate over the prop is missing so I was going to put a curved brass tube to pickup the water from the prop wash. Just have to figure out how to secure it to the drive. Thinking maybe some JB Weld or some type of small clamp like used on the transom pickups?

That was my thought too but I figured I would see what others were doing.
Is that grim racer prop too big for this ob on a pb 1500 on 4s

I have no idea on your Grim prop. What size is it?
The Dumas Hot Shot I have is the ABS one. I was thinking a SV27 motor on 4s and will start with a x440 maybe detounged. It's my sons boat and he just wants to have some fun with it, no racing....well maybe just against me.

I do have an x440 but I have to get it back from my friend.
              The grim is a 40x52 3 blade.
Looking at a stock 3.5 the hyper performance shaft hub is longer causing the prop to be set out farther I think..
My ob is gonna be mounted on a hobbyking hornet till I get a better hull..
