CF Fightercat Daytona build, help me with my setup

This will be my first RC boat. I really like the looks of a Cat style boat. I do have some stuff picked out so far, and I need help with what all to buy.
I'm starting with a Carbon Fiber Fightercat Daytona, I want to start out with just a 4s setup though. Then latter on down the line step up to 5 or 6s. I'll get all my hardware at FC when I buy the boat. I know I'll upgrade to a 3/16" drive. Run a spectrum tx/rx, they seem to run good in my heli's. But I'm unsure on esc or motor? Would you run a swordfish 200amp, or a seaking 180amp? Which motor, leopard 4074 or 4082?
I would love to hear what you guy suggest. I know it's my first boat, an on top of that it will be a build. But to me that's the best way to learn is to do a build. Maybe I'm wrong? But o'well. I just hope I don't screw it up to bad.

I know I shouldn't go over my max budget of $1000. If you can? Try an keep me below my max. And yes I know I could have went with a better hull from FC. I might even do there Shocker or Fantasm in CF? But if I went with a fantasm, would I need to go twins on it? If so then it's out of my budget.

Already kinda changed my mind on the Daytona. I like the shocker or the fantasm better. The shocker is the same lenth as the daytona but it 2" wider. I wonder how good the shocker would be on single drive?

You should consider the cheetah hull, it looks like it would handle better, I think you can go twin or single in pretty much any cat they have, its cheaper and you have alot more room to play with single. I have been thinking of building one too, if moneys a object you should think about maybe going single with good stuff maybe high voltage, I am not a pro like alot of guys on here, but thats what I think, have fun,

Good choice. Both are superior hulls.
Either boat could be made to run on a single motor. What are your speed goals?

PS: I sent you a message about building one...let me know if you're interested.

My Shocker twin was around your budget if you build it yourself. You could trim a few bucks here and there. You could go with the FC 240twin ESC for starters.
          Here's the build thread http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hawn-s-Shocker

I pm'ed Keith about building it. All of his boats that I've seen look sick. I told him to figure out what's best for a Shocker with a single drive, run on 4s2p. If I go over my budget, O'well. That's what overtime is for. To have what you want. The wife will kill me when she see's I have a new toy.
