Repowered Miss Geico running at half speed...HELP

I hope someone can help my MG. I just put in a leopard 4082-2200 and an M645 S&B I have a Seaking 180 esc. I just took it out and ran it for the first time thinking it would run around 50 mph or so on 4S but it ran 32 mph I bumped it up to 5S and it ran 42 mph so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I checked the programming on the esc and the timing is set at 11.25 which I thought would be a good place to start. I'm running a RX battery pack. I disconnected the red wire a year ago when I first started running it. It seemed like it stuttered a couple times and then took off again but just had no power. So I ran it that way for a minute or 2 and temps were around 102 for motor and 110 esc the batteries where 95 or so the outside temp today is 92 so I didn't think that was bad at all. So what should I do next? Timing maybe?

Try calibrating the throttle on the esc maybe.

I just did the manual throttle calibration. It beeped twice at full throttle position and then beeped 5 times when I let go of the trigger. Does the 5 beeps correspond to the 5 cell that I hooked it up to?

what's your lipo cut off set at? The 180amp esc's are notorious for LVC issues. Try setting it to 2.8v or right off, just time yourself or pay close attention for the drop in power

I have the LVC set at 3.4v to be a little overly cautious but I read a fair amount about esc reading the correct voltage. So I will change it to 2.8v and see if that has any effect.

Your right but I don't think you would get anywhere near 30mph if the LVC was cutting in.

Thanks to all you guys for your help. I've adjusted some settings and will try again early this week (hopefully tomorrow afternoon). I'll report back on this thread and let you know how it worked out. I'll gps it so I can get some exact speed numbers. I'm thinkin' 4082-2200 M645 5S Seaking 180 should run at least 60 mph set up decently.
                  What do you guys think?

Hi Guys, I want to thank you all for your help! Yesterday I took the boat down to the water hazard on the golf course I live on and although it's a little pond, I was dying to try it out and low and behold I believe the recalibration of the throttle did the trick because I couldn't even open it up and GPS's it at 58.1 in about 100 yards. This weekend we go to the marina in Baltimore and I'll get it opened up and hopefully around 62 - 65mph.
My next question is, have any of you put a little down angle on the strut, just a degree or so? It still has a little bounce in it but I hear that is starts to smooth out a little around 60. Any more advice or do I just play around an try to find the perfect combination of adjustments, batteries, strut, etc?
Thanks again you have all been a great help and I'll post a video after the weekend.

Ripper, is that 2200kv? If so thats 40k rpm @ 18volts! Is Your MG a saw?

Did you have to do any mods to get the 4082 in there? Any pics?

I didn't do anything but take out the stock motor and put in the Leopard 4082-2200Kv with an M645 prop Seaking 180 esc and an Rx pack. No mods to the boat at all and the canopy including the inner tuperware lid all fits fine. About 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch from the front of the motor to the clear lid. I don't have a picture of the inside at the moment but I'll post one tomorrow if I get a chance, if not the beginning of the week. Everything just fits fine, not much room left for anything else but what else do ya need?
All I can tell you is I pulled the trigger last night for the first time with it running right and on 5s and it's SCARY FAST. I've had the boat for 2years now and just love it. I don't race it, just take it out to see how fast I can get it to go. So yes it's a saw but a sport saw if there is such a thing. Like I said 58.1 mph and not even wide open. The shot above is with the stock motor on 5s which GPS'd at 45 mph, I thought that was fast at the time now, WOW. You can see it doesn't look much like a MG since I painted it. Now the fun is trying to keep it right side up.

I'm running a Neu 1515 2200kv on 5s with m440 on mean machine cat as a sport boat. I'm seeing 56mph but don't have the balls to put on that m445 yet lol. Things are only warn after solid 4min run

Come on, Heaving Earth, don't be scared. What's the worst that can happen......you cook something and learn what went wrong so you can build it better.
That's basically what I'm doing and having a blast doing it. Hopefully 60 - 65 mph this weekend. I'll have video next week.
Good luck! go for it!Catchin' air.jpg
