First boat....Miss Geico or AQ Revolt?

I'm not new to R/C and have been racing 1/10th and 1/8th E-buggies for years now. I have a good radio (M11X) and charging equipment and have wanted an electric boat for awhile now. After reading through many pages here I've decided on either a ProBoat Miss Geico or the new Aquacraft Revolt 30. Have no idea how they handle so perhaps you can help me out. Do Cats handle better than tunnels? The lakes I frequent have some very mild chop so I'd like a boat that could handle those conditions......Much Appreciated!

Not to be picky with what you said, but you are comparing a Cat to a mono, then ask if a Cat handles better than a tunnel, unless it is a typo, the Revolt as you must realize is a mono. Whatever you decide, I suggest you do a bit of reading first, a lot of people will come up with insightful advices, but in the end you must have an idea what type of boat you would like to have as a first boat. I have a Pursuit mono that is a tick longer than the Revolt and deals well with chops, the Proboat Stiletto is a tunnel and there is a good deal of info here at the forum.
Proboat just updated their entire product line. The Miss Geico lives on in its original layout, i.e., in-line rudder, its sucessor the Mystic is discontinued and replaced by the new Blackjack 29.( red one). This has a off-set rudder that some people prefer over the in-line rudder of the Miss Geico. In addition on the Blackjack 29 the motor is 1800kv vs. 1500kv in the MG, the ESC is 80 amp vs. 60 amp.
I don't want to bore you and best wishes for getting your first boat!

Too many boats, not enough time...

The Revolt is a great looking boat, BUT after getting one of the first releases of Motley Crew when they first came out, I'd wait this time to make sure there are no new boat bugs that Aquacraft need to work on. Everything pans out and I'd have no problems buying one.
The Proboat Impulse has been out for a good while now and has some features I would have liked to see in the Revolt.
It's kinda hard to compare a cat to a mono, very different beasts, I have a couple of cats but to be honest I really prefer a mono, just like the way they handle more.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

For your first boat which will be your only boat for a while I'd go with a mono. It will run in all water conditions and will be easier to set up. I thing the build quality of the impulse is much better than my revolt. Jmo
        white geico w/2200kv 3674 leopard 53.5mph 4s2p, geico w/ 1800kv outrunner 52mph on 4s2p, genesis w/2200kv castle 53.8 on 4s2p, impulse 31 w/2200kv castle, stock p1 and ul-1

I have a mg and it will excite you when you have good water conditions and turn and corner amazing. It glides on the water and its a blast to see. My cousin has a traxxas blast brushless I.put together for him. That's a mono and it has the speed and it can turn.well too in any condition. I wouldn't.consider jumping a boat wake with my.mg but the.mono takes It like a champ. So depends what you.want. If your water is even semi flat. Id go with the mg. It just is fun to see it slide across the water and then shoot out and just plane.

Look at some videos on YouTube of the two. See what people have gotten out of the.boats. Speed handling looks etc and go from there. I have a video on my YouTube. YouTube.com/masonis1 and have my mg there and I also have my deep v too but watch how the mg handles on many videos. Then look at others.

Thanks for all the input Guys! My LHS has all the boats you've mentioned and I DO like the build quality of the Impulse 31. Seems a shame to have to discard the radio right away though in favor of my own. Also, I have a number of 4S lipo's lying around from my 1/8th Buggy which would drop right into the Revolt so that is the way I am leaning right now. Its gonna have to be a mono for me due to the chop I'll be running in. Already gone through 40-50 pages here...excellent forum! I have alot to learn which is part of the fun. Gonna do some more reading and hopefully stop by the hobby shop tomorrow to take another look at the boats.

Can run a 4s in the Impulse, just put it on the left side. I have and it works fine.

you can run 2 4s in parallel in the MG and the extra weight helps out in chop. I will say mono's are going to have the edge in chop between two similar sized hulls.
