    Pursuit boat

I just got a new pursuit today, the cowl doesnt seem to want to fit in the hull very well, its a little too wide, it may stay in when taped, does any one if thats the norm and shound I use epoxy to to put the broken battery tray back in place on the hull?

    Hi there
if its too wide, you can try what I done
I got some small rope and tied it around the hatch, then got a hair dryer and heated it up a bit, then left it for a week.
    seemes ok now :)

I was thinking of doing just that, but was a little worried about cracking the gel coat, it doesnt have to go much, so yours was too wide too? The battery holder came off during shipping, I wonder if I should 5 min epoxy it back on or leave it off and velcro the lipos in the sides of the boat back a little, maybe I should put it back on for the t180 esc to mount on, any thoughts?

well If heating it up isnt working, Tie it in, then put a layer of fiberglass down and let it set! that should hold it.
Also for your "battery" holders, ive found sticky back velcro is fine till your boat gets dirty and oily.
Id defaintly use some sort of holder like the carbon ones on this site, and then use velcro straps.

Ive also found that normal Epoxy reson, like West Systems 101 or what ever its called with 206 hardner seems to be a hell of a lot stronger than any 5 Min epoxy.
If you use 5 min, id use araldite.

            some extra info:
a 5min epoxy is good for quickly tag something in place, not for "glueing". 5 min epoxy will also change into something like chewing gummy when
its in contact with water a lot of the time.

I noticed that you built one of these or these, how did the hatch or cowl fit onto the hull, mine seems a little bit too wide?

My one is not to wide but its not straight, so there is a little bit of twist in it.
When I push it in, it will just pop-out. I tape it and have no problems with that.
there is no real stress on the hatch.

i just got a pursuit this week as well ,no problem with hatch fitting , the stock motor in mine is a 2075kv 3672 black can 4pole is that what you guys got with yours ?
the slow set epoxy is strongest.

My pursuit lid is also a little big. I just squeeze it in place and tape it with no problems.

you will probably find that you wont get a good cog when you place the batts on that batt tray . lay sticky back velcro along sides (so motor is in between lipo's) and place lipo's there. i have t180 in front of motor and the cog is almost between the motor and esc. this way you can move lipo's fwd or back to get cog.

The same motor they fit to the genesis? Did you get yours from HK?

I would imagine the HK ones will be the same. I will find out when customs finally release the boat! I always get hit for customs charges when they send it ems so it's no quicker.

Mine came from HK I dont think it was even 2 weeks, looks good, I dont care if and when the motor goes, gona put a t180 in it, and when the motor goes I may put a outrunner in it and try that, I have 3 diff ones, one is a 600 class with a 6mm shaft, 1400kv, looks powerfull... I still am a little confused what should I use to secure the battery tray back in place?
