Love the look of the 50+ inch boats but just not enough speed. Just wondering what the longest or largest fe boat is. traxxas Spartan?

No. The longest is the new Atomik catamaran. But... It is badly underpowered. Unless you only want mid to upper 30 mph range. I'd suggest building your own if you want a large scale FE boat.

The fastest is probably the Aquacraft UL-1 hydro, but it is certainly not the longest. What is "enough speed" for you?

No RTR runs that fast stock. What is your experience level with FE boats?

None. All nitro hydros and outriggers. So all these videos of stock miss geicos and motley crews and Genesis running 50+ are just amped up owners. That disappoints me. That makes me second guess my choice to switch.

No sane person believes everything they see on the Internet. However, remember that I said "stock" RTRs. With a prop change, good batteries and the right water conditions 50 mph is certainly possible, at least with the MC. I tested a prototype in 2009 - with good cells and a prop change it ran near 50 with almost no adjustments. But 60+ will require a new motor, or a setup so severe it would be SAW only. I was in LA for the 2008 SAW races when the first run of UL-1s was in transit from China. A guy with a pre-production boat tuned it up (prop change air dam and strut adjustment) and made a 65 mph pass.

nice i went to a saw race in valdosta ga and yes i understand that none of those boats are stock but speed is addicting. But seriously all i expect is low 50's from a stock boat with good batteries and a metal prop. All the upgrades can come later this is just to get me started. But i dont want to spend 500$ and get 30 mph. I have done all the research on the mg and mc and they just seem to small. Just checked out the atomik and for 1000$ you might as well get a gas boat for that speed. The genesis seems to be the way i am leaning but i have not read anything good about the stock setup. Maybe a hull and a leopard motor is the better choice.

The genesis is a small hull. It my be 37", but is very narrow and sucks at turning. Side by side with a MG it may even look smaller even though it's longer. Rtr isnt the way to go to get what you're expecting.

Rumdog, I follow your post on this forum and respect your opinion. I don't agree though that "the Genesis sucks at turning". I actually own both the Genesis and a Montley Crew cat. Both of these hulls need to be driven and not just aimed. I posted on another thread that I have never hooked or spun out my Genesis while I can't say the same thing about the Montley Crew. Most of the guys on the You tube videos seem to think a turning radius of 20 feet is normal. There is a reason the IMPBA uses 75 feet. Equal motors and batteries I will chose the Genesis in heat racing over the MC. just my opinion.
