OK, this may sound a little corny,[ I spent too much time in the sixties] but I beleive that when we're building something new, & launching a "first run", It's like were ALL there in spirit, if not in person.

how do you get the same speed with 2s1p as you do with 4s2p?
do you change the motor or what.

The first clip is on the set of 2s-1p 5000s The second is the 4s-2p 3300s
I'm thinking 2- 2s1p in a series to get the same as the 4s2p. I hope I'm right.

Awesome job Tom!! really flies!! And nice gutsy turning there. Big difference between the 2 clips.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

No, literally. I was supposed to be there for the run. My work sent me right past SJFE's house on Tuesday. He hosted dinner that night. On Thursday, I was supposed to stop back by for this run, but Work had me bail @ 3:00am. I passed SJFE's house at about 4:30AM. Didn't wanna wake him at that time.

                  Thread about it here

Ok in reference to th 2s 4s question. I have a set of 4s packs I run in parallel and a set of 2s packs I run in series. That is where it gets confusing. Both are considered 4s-2p...not quite sure why.

Looks great!! I am happy for you SJFE.... Very nice cheap power system, seems to work well... Where did you get the 4S 3300 30C lipos?
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

Awlright Tom ! After watching the turns you were doing, I ran Drifter Blue today & got a little gutsier ! Got some 3/4 throttle turns in & then blew the driveshaft. Thanks for the inspiration , I needed that !!

Kewl beans brother. Now fix that shaft and give it hell again. I am thinking if I had a skeg strut I wouldent have to chop the throttle in order to set the sponsens. With the Feigao 9XL @ 38mph I was able to hold it wind open and completely turn it in about a 30 foot radius. @ almost 50 the rudder don't seem to get a good bite. I will be out again Sunday running. With some cg ajustment I may be able to hold it. I'd like to try my S&B X4403blade also.

Excellent run and what a very "inexpensive" power system.
you made mention of a skeg strut...which skeg strut would you choose/reccomend?

I don't know if this would interface with your hardware, but if you want it it's yours
