Does this behavior sound right for my ESC?

I have a CC Barracuda 80amp ESC, updated to the latest firmware with the Castle link USB. I have programed it for use with my tx to see full throttle and full reverse. Now if I hold full throttle without the motor hooked up, the red LED flashes. If I hook up the motor, and hold full throttle, the LED now goes solid red.

Is this supposed to happen, IE., solid red when motor hooked up, but flashing red when no motor hooked up and full throttle is selected?

I have never tried without a motor, but with a motor you definitely what a solid. I had a customer blow 3 esc's on a setup that should NOT have done that. It turned out that while he thought he was running full throttle, he was actually only getting about 85% because of radio issues. He didn't realize about getting a solid color. So the esc's were over heating quickly. Once we adjusted the transmitter he was good to go!

Ya, it's definitely solid red with the motor on. I just disconnected the motor while setting it up so it would be a bit quieter while doing the testing, and also a bit safer.
