Arpro 700 or snap 720 are they any good?

Been looking on a uk website that has the arpro 700 and snap 720 at reasonable prices

Are these boats any good or just cheap rubbish.

They certainly look the part but I'm worried the electrics won't last

I'm looking for a deep v mono that's going to go well in rougher conditions and run 3s

How much are they? In the UK you can get a pursuit for £230 I think it is from astec. Or if you are a platinum member at HK the pursuit works out at around £150 delivered but only comes with a motor. I think the pursuit will handle chop better as its a bit bigger.

There exists two versions: ( Arpro 700) both have out-runner motors. Earlier version used a solid shaft, the coupler goes inside an aluminum bell shaped end which is part of the stuffing tube. Lately I saw the other version with a flex shaft setup and the coupler/collet is like most set up. Can't tell if the second version has an adjustable stinger of not, I am sure the first version is non-adjustable,the stuffing tube exits the transom and that is your "stinger"

I looked at the pursuit, but I thought it looked a really shallow vee.

Checked on astec but they don't show it anymore

Hurricane models have the arpro for 160 quid and the snap for 190 which I thought was reasonable for a uk seller

That's not bad. They don't include radio though.
          Even cheaper here

You are refering to freeboard, yes, from the picture the Arpro 700 looks to have more freeboard ( distance from water line to where water can enter the boat ) than the Pursuit. The latter is really a FE hull where as the Arpro is more of an entry level/scale boat. A deep vee and shallow vee to my knowledge is not entirely determined by this. Do a search on you tube. The Arpro is pretty slow running on 3s, there is a member here from UK that posted some Pursuit youtube footage and I remember the lake was pretty choppy, seems the boat handled w/o too much struggle.
In the States the Snap 720 is marketed under Exceed brand name, I was very much taken by her good looks, however if you look at the transom you wouldn't find much space to add trim tabs and turn fins, two items I think will be needed for the boat to run better. In that sense the Arpro is the simpler solution , in my opinion. More experienced member should correct me if I am wrong. I bought an old Venom P1 from a member here and both Trim tabs and turn fins were added. This is before the current version where they installed a combo turn fin trim tab contraption. I like to think the Snap 720 is somewhat similar to the KOS P1 hull although the stepped V looks different. (Venom and Exceed/Snap are made by Dragon Hobby if I am correct)

Listen to this. Plus if thd hull is like venoms it will be paper thin, if you can afford thd pursuit I would go with that. The hull will be of better quality and it turns like its on rails. Prob more of a 4s boat but you could still run 3s. If your like most of us you will upgrade it anyway

Just off the phone to one of the model shops.

The guy told me as soon as the snap comes in they sell like crazy unlike the arpro.

Apparently the snap is out of stock in the uk until July

The guy also told me the snap is self righting but there's nothing on any website to support this.

Think I'll be looking for an alternative from what you guys have said.

I want something that's going to work well in the chop with a decent build quality also!

                    .

                    Only reason I wanted a 3s boat is I have 3000 and 5000 3s batteries already

westbourne model centre (UK)has the snap 720 i was in there last week and was looking at it, its small in real life though although looks pretty!

I would echo the views about and go for a pursuit.

You could get something like a 4074 1400kv and run 2x3s I series making 6s. That would be awesome fast.
