    Steering setup for Twin outboards

I am setting up a 45 inch cat hull with twin outboards, i am after some opinions on which way to setup the steering geometry. I could go with a servo for each outboard or I could run a tie rod connecting both outboards and use one servo to turn both. I have seen a few photos of outboard class cats with the tie rod connecting the outboards and assume they are setup as a master slave steering.

    Cheers

I would go for double servo + the connecting rod between both outboards.
With double rudder you could be fine with 1 servo, but 2 "powered rudders" are really asking a lot from the servo.

When you drive straight ahead its "relative" easy for the servo to steer into the corner, the hard part is getting out of the corner as the
prop is giving thrust to the other side then you want to have it go to.

(at least that is my experience with Z-drive powered boats.)

    Regards,

Cheers mate, yeh that's the way I was heading with the twin servos. After seeing the full size cats running the tie rod between the two outboards I will do the same on my setup. It must give better control or movement of the two outboards in unison.

        Twin o/b are cool !
Depends on size/pwr the outboards as to what gear you need .
Even with twin servos it is still wise to use the tie rod as a separator.

If those blades touch !!! oops.
