Fightercat esc spark arrestor

I'm a little confused. I've used spark arrestors but they've always been a red wire. I'm assuming this small black wire is a spark arrestor ( the wire the pencil is pointing at). So is it safe to say the other end gets soldered to my black battery lead? I tried Benjamin several times with no answer. Thank guys.

yes, other end to Black negative battery connector. I always make a plug-end for the battery with the small wire connected to the plug not the battery so you can use different packs.
